Mr Goodrich and his goal

I woke up the next day and my clothes were dried. and she felt better than before but hungry. I smelled biscuits cooking.I felt bad for Mr. Goodrich because  he wasn't rich yet and I hope he get rich so he can be happy.

Meeting Black Sam Fraunces

When I went back home I saw a person named Black Sam Fraunces. I called his name he bent and twist away from me. I told myself “ that's him.” he scratched his forehead I told him “I heard that you don't keep slaves.” He said “oh, I am not his slave but I just work for him.” he also said “you are the worst liar i have ever seen because I work for Mr. Sam Fraunces." I was thinking to jump the fence and make a run for it since I have been caught but I said I am no runaway I am a free black lady.

British took my Ma

I am  scared that they will take me back to the Ives family and I'd be beat. I was flinging stones at the British and they are starting to whisper stuff like “what was that?” I found out that my mom is on one of the British prison ships but I don’t know for sure so she has to go check to see if she is on one of them because I miss ma so bad, and she’s the only one that she has left.

Wheres My Ma?

She was thinking about what happen about my Ma. There was a boat with British soldier around it. I was thinking in my head if I asked would I been going to prison by asking would I get shot? I just went to the British just to ask. When I came up to him I said “is there a black woman in the prison boat?” He said Black woman? Like he didn't know what I was talking about. I said “well I am trying to find my Ma.” Your ma? We don’t have women in prison he said. Than he snapped on me “Are you deaf kid?! You better leave before I put you to the prison boat!”

British Attack

As we go to the fort, there were people in the fort talking having a fun time until 3 British soldiers came out of the hill with a white flag. One of the guys yelled “the British is surrendering!” But they weren't surrendering they told them that “they should surrender now or they will kill everyone in this fort.” Pa yelled “we are not going to surrender!” British started charging they thought it was just three but more and more came out and there were too many for them while that was going on I was at the fort with a white boy. I did not want to tell this boy that I am a girl because she was a girl, but we work together. The boy was getting scared he said that he would want to be a girl right now because they didn't have to go to war he just wanted to stay home with his mom. The British were winning and they were going to go to the fort Trying to break in. They broke in and started killing everyone. I just went to sitting in a corner just waiting to be killed.

Willy Freeman

The next day there were Red coats coming towards them. Pa came just in time to tell them what to do. Pa said his plan to Willy and he gave him a hug and a kiss on the forehead they spotted him right away she yelled go Pa go. As he went to the wall there were redcoats after Ma and Willy. A redcoat yelled “spy spy.” but she got on her horse and left the woods. They were headed to the woods because that’s where the fort was for food water and shelter. My dad meets up at the fort with him waiting for the redcoats.

Willy Freeman

Hello! My name is Willy Freeman and this is my journal about my book. My father left us for war against the British. I was scared about my dad that he might not come back. Later that day Ma’s cow was killed by soldiers. She was mad and cussing at them. She was telling them that are the only thing she owns. The cabin is not hers. The clothes on her back are not her clothes. One of the British soldiers said “I am sorry we didn't know that was your cow we did not mean to bother you guys.” There was a soldier that came to the door ask me if I was a girl or a boy. I told him “You can’t tell?” My mom said “he is a boy.” The solder didn't believe me so he went to grab my breast just to feel if he is a girl and he said “if it was me you are a girl.” My dad rush in told the guy that to get his hands off me or he would get killed by my dad.
